Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

Solution-focused brief therapy is an approach to counselling based on the idea that there are exceptions to every problem. By focusing on these exceptions - and having a clear picture of the future you would prefer - we can work together on ideas for solutions.

There may be times when there is a limit to the number of counselling sessions available. For example it's quite common for four to six sessions of counselling to be offered to employees through a workplace scheme. Or, it may be that you want to work in a way that focuses on a specific problem over a short period of time.
